Annual Report
Initiation Day Observed:
Marjum Memorial Public School is established and managed by the MSFS Fathers known as Fransalians who have over 175 years of experience and expertise in imparting quality education all over the world. The MSFS Fathers are committed to forming the present generation for the future through more than 100 quality Educational Institutions in India.
World Environment Day:
The key to greener planet lies in our hands and the greatest threat to our glob is the belief that someone else will save it. The future of our mother earth lies in our own hands and the present generation is very much responsible for what they do. Keeping this in mind, our school celebrated world environment Day on 5th June 2018. Students put up various programs in the morning assembly pin pointing the relevance of living with nature in peace. Miss Monalisa Gogoi, Asst. Professor at SFS College, Aalo, was the resource person. She highlighted some important factors which do harm to our environment. At the end of the program both teachers and students planted seedlings on the campus to mark the occasion.
Teacher’s Training Program:
Teacher’s training was held in the auditorium to from 8th and 9th of June to update the teachers with the latest trends in education and also to enhance their teaching skills. It was a wonderful opportunity for them. The session was led by Anjan Choudhary, from Guwahati. He was very resourceful and helped the teachers to come out of their traditional understanding of education with some practical tips.
Inauguration of the New Academic Year 2018-19:
The Inauguration of academic year 2018-19 officially started on 23rd June 2018. Students from various classes put up a host of programs in the presence of some distinguished guests. Mr Nyage Geyi, DMO, Aalo, solemnized the occasion as chief guest. In his address, he exhorted the students to be disciplined and to work hard. He shared some of his own experiences to inspire them. There was also an hour of orientation program for the students conducted by Fr John Berman. The session was lively with lots of interacton and active participation of the students.
Inauguration of the new Academic Year was held on 23rd of June.
Calligraphy workshop:
Training the students to possess a beautiful handwriting is considered high in our priority list. A beautiful handwriting always leaves the reader a pretty good impression about the writer since the art to pen our thoughts in an impressive style is very important. Keeping this in mind a Calligraphy workshop was organized on 14th September 2018.
Independence Day Celebration:
A colourful function was organized in the school campus to celebrate Independence Day. The program gave a sense of patriotism and unity among the students. Fr Solomon Tirky, the Vice-principal gave an inspiring speech about patriotism. A few patriotic dances and songs were put up to mark the occasion. Our students also participated in the Independence program at the public ground. They joined for March past and Patriotic Dance.
Teachers Day:
Teachers play a vital role in the lives of the students. Teachers are the most important part of the school. Today we salute all our teachers for their selfless and dedicated service to the nation by moulding the young minds. So a colouful program was organized by the students to mark the occasion on 5th September 2018. Students put up various programs to show their love and respect to the teachers. All the teachers were given gift and delicious meal at the end of the function.
Spelling Bee Competition:
A spell Bee competition was held for the lower class students of I-V on 15th September. The winners were awarded certificates and prize money.
The Annual Sports and Games Week-2018-19:
The Annual Sports and Cultural week was held from 5th to 10th of November 2018. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr Abhinav Kumar, DFO, Aalo. The chief Guest was welcomed with school band. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by him. Fr Augustine, the Principal welcomed everyone. The torch light was carried by Shri Leyi Taso, a Class X student. Some cultural dances added colour to the inaugural ceremony. In his inaugural speech, the Chief Guest exhorted everyone to take active part in sports and games to build up a healthy Nation. The week long events was concluded on 10th of November. In the concluding ceremony, Mr Leyi Taso was declared as the Individual champion. And the RED House became the overall champions.
Children’s Day:
14th November 2018 was a day to remember. Teachers were at their best colourful attire to welcome the students. To make a change today students were free to come in their local attire. It was very beautiful to see young children in their local dress with full ornaments. The best locally dressed class was given award. Then our teachers put up some really wonderful programs. It was also a chance for the teachers to show their skills and talents and they fully made use of it. The students were happy to see their teachers on the stage singing and dancing. Various entertainment programs were put up to make it an awesome day to look back with a smile.
Inter-School Cultural Competitions:
Inter-School Cultural Competitions were held in our School from 23rd to 24th of November 2018. Eight School from various schools participated in the event. Our School became overall champions at the end of the events. Mr Bamo Jini gave away the trophies and the prizes for the winners.
Merry Xmas:
Christmas is a celebration of oneness and peace. People all over the world exchange peace on this day. Our school had pre-xams celebration on 20th of December 2018. It was a day full of fun and joy. The birth of Jesus was enacted on the stage and the Santa Claus came with lots of gifts and sweets. A beautiful crib was set up to mark the occasion.
Study Tour:
A study tour was organized for the class IX and X students of our School to Delhi, Agra, Manali and Amritzar from 27th December to 5th January 2019. There were around 35 students including the staff. Many students had first hand experience of the train. They were really curious to know learn about many places. Among all the places they enjoyed more in Manali with snow.
Republic Day Program:
On 26th January 2019, we celebrated the Republic Day by hoisting the flag in the School ground. The main program was in the public ground. Our students joined for March Past and Patriotic Dance. Our students also put up a skit on ‘Ethical Election’, a skit on clean election. It was well accepted and appreciated by the public.
